Cycling and Sports - Opportunities in Food & Drink

22 August 2017

Tayside

Venue: Abertay University, Bell Street, Dundee

Time: 09:30 to 14:00

Description

The Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland (MTBCoS) and Abertay University are hosting a joint event to bring together Scottish food and drink producers (some already making cycling & sports produce and others considering diversifying), academics from food and drink, nutrition and sports science disciplines and other members of the business support industry together.

The event will have a big emphasis on networking and speed pitching ideas to the room – what we are trying to stimulate is an exchange of ideas, trends and expertise and from that to build collaborations between businesses and academia.

The Cycling Industry

The global sports and nutrition market is worth over $20billion and we know that cycling in particular is experiencing growing numbers in participation. Cycling and sports products command high price points compared to general food stuffs with emphasis in cycling looking at portion size, ease of access of packaging (whilst cycling with one hand) and quick energy.

Who should attend?

  • Existing cycling food and drink companies
  • Food and drink companies that could diversify into cycling
  • Food and drink academics
