Dr Siobhan Jordan shortlisted for Business Woman of the Year

Congratulations to Dr Siobhán Jordan for being shortlisted for Business Woman of the Year at the Business Women in Scotland Awards 2017

Business Women Scotland (BWS) and Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) are collaborating to mark the achievements of the growing numbers of women-led businesses. The Business Awards will celebrate the entrepreneurial talents of women across Scotland – and help to create more business role models to inspire the next generation of leading women.

Siobhán has over twenty years of experience and accumulated reputation in research, knowledge exchange, strategic thinking and working with academia and business.

In 2005 Siobhán established Interface as a partnership, not-for-profit organisation between all 23 Universities, Higher Education Institutions and research institutes working with senior academic researchers, Vice Principals and Principals.  Her starting point as the appointed Director of Interface in 2005 was a blank sheet of paper to develop a central point of access between businesses and universities for R&D collaborations with pilot funding for three years and three staff.

Over the past ten years, she has created the vision, brand and operational practices for the organisation that have led to both national and international recognition and reputation and transformative practices with respect to industry-academic  engagement. Throughout this period, she has had an outstanding track record of advocacy across the UK and internationally on behalf of Scottish universities, in enabling further enhancement of university-business engagement meeting the ambition set out in UK and Scottish Government policies.

The winners will be announced on the 26th October 2017. Full details of all the category shortlists can be found here: http://bwsltd.co.uk/business-women-scotland-and-wes-scotland-awards-2017/
