Accessibility statement for Interface (interface-online.org.uk)
This accessibility statement applies to the website https://interface-online.org.uk/.
This website is run by Interface. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen (updated for WCAG 2.2).
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software.
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
We also aim to make the website text as simple as possible to understand.
How accessible this website is
We know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible. While many pages follow good accessibility practice, there are areas that do not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements. For example:
- Some images do not have alternative text.
- Some older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software.
- Some form elements lack clear labels or instructions.
- Color contrast on some buttons and decorative elements may be insufficient.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Interface is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with accessibility regulations
- Images and Alt Text: Some images and icons lack appropriate alternative text, which means users of screen readers cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).
- Interactive Labels: Some buttons and form controls lack programmatic labels, making it difficult for assistive technology to identify their purpose. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value).
- Focus and Navigation: Keyboard navigation does not always follow a logical order, and some elements lack a visible focus indicator. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 2.4.3 (Focus Order) and 2.4.7 (Focus Visible).
- Color Contrast: Some text and graphical elements do not have sufficient contrast against their backgrounds. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast – Minimum).
- Heading Structure: Some pages use headings out of order, which can confuse screen reader users. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).
We are prioritising these improvements as part of our 2026 development roadmap.
Disproportionate burden
We are not currently claiming any accessibility issues as a disproportionate burden.
Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
At present, all primary content on this website is intended to fall within scope of the regulations.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
Accessibility is a core part of our ongoing maintenance. We are currently:
- Updating our CMS to include mandatory Alt Text fields.
- Ensuring reasonable adjustments are available to any user while technical fixes are being implemented.
