Steven Hutcheon

Steven is the acting Head of Technology and Innovation with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, where he is responsible for leading HIE’s activity around productivity, innovation, digital and the Northern Innovation Hub. Joining HIE in 2004, Steven has held a number of positions across the organisation covering business growth, communities and regional development. During this time, he has been involved with projects in innovation, property development and management, strategy development, tourism, inward investment and manufacturing. Committed to lifelong learning, Steven is a honours graduate of Aberdeen University’s Forestry Department, an HND in Papermaking from Bury College and an MBA (with distinction) from Robert Gordon University. A resident of Huntly, he is active in the local community and is a past Director and Chair of the Huntly Development Trust. He is a youth rugby coach and set up the first girls rugby team in the North East.
