Role: Sector Engagement Executive - Tourism
In 2016 Fiona joined the Interface team in a newly created role, focussing on the key growth sector of tourism. She has long been driven by building on the success of our world-class tourism offer. Fiona has worked and volunteered for top tourist attractions in the UK and the Netherlands. Before coming to Interface, she spent three years with the development body Museums Galleries Scotland. There she especially enjoyed contributing to working groups of cultural, heritage and tourism stakeholders keen to embrace innovation.
Fiona also understands the importance of Interface’s role as she has lead on successful business to academic collaborations whilst based at the University of Exeter. Her own PhD studentship was supported through formal partnership with the Royal Albert Memorial Museum.
At the weekends Fiona loves exploring Scotland, usually through impromptu hiking and camping trips. She is excited by visiting new places, meeting new people, trying activities and weird and wonderful food and drink.
