Edinburgh & Lothians

Venue: The Studio, 20 Potterrow, Edinburgh

Time: 10:00 to 14:00

Interface is pleased to invite you to a workshop, where they will explore ways to build dementia friendly tourism across Scotland.

The aim of this workshop is to:

  • Encourage tourism businesses to develop their product, service or processes to become more dementia friendly and so benefit from the potential this growing market offers

  • Showcase the insight, expertise and services Scottish universities can provide to address the opportunities

  • Establish where the challenges and opportunities lie and to identify projects which will be transformative for both the individual businesses concerned but also for the sector.

  • Ascertain the appetite for a group of tourism businesses to work together with the dementia community and academics on a collaborative project in this area

  • Help to establish linkages between groups of businesses together with appropriate academic expertise with a view to building projects which will drive innovation in the sector.

Interface is working in partnership with the Life Changes Trust to deliver this event. The Life Changes Trust works with people living with dementia and those who care for them, investing resources so that individuals are more able to face the challenges before them and can exercise more choice and control in their own lives.

Registration will be from 9:30 and there will be an opportunity to network from 1:00pm - 2:00pm over a light lunch.
