02 October 2019

Venue: Robert Gordon University, Garthdee Road, Aberdeen

Time: 08:30 to 12:00

When the time comes to grow, small firms can often find it difficult to attract and retain the right talent for their business.

This free, half-day workshop is designed for anyone working within or with small businesses. It will provide an understanding of the various issues surrounding employment, and help small firms avoid and overcome the common pitfalls. A snapshot of the topics to be covered include:

  • Employment law for small firms
  • Training and human resource development
  • Organisational and employee identity

The event, sponsored by the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) and facilitated by Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University, will be interactive in nature and include a number of short sessions from academics and expert industry speakers. There will be discussion and networking, providing delegates the opportunity to share their own experiences with employment issues and consider ways in which they can improve their practices.

Aberdeen Business School has a rich history in entrepreneurship and small business research, and we have designed this event to allow small businesses to reflect on their employment practices and development of talent capability within their organisation.

A full schedule of activities will be released closer to the event date.
