The UK Industrial Strategy provides significant opportunities for Scottish businesses. SCDI has been leading the way in Scotland to drive increased engagement with the UKIS through our Investment & UKIS Commission.

After listening to our members and engaging with businesses and organisations across Scotland, SCDI is delivering a free workshop to support successful bidding for UKIS funding in Dundee on Friday 29 March in partnership with the Scottish Government and the University of Dundee.

This workshop will give attendees practical advice, guidance and intelligence from those who have ‘been there and done it’, empowering your business, organisation or team with the expertise you need to bid, succeed and grow.

The workshop will feature presentations from:

  • Scotland-based firms who have been part of successful bids or bid consortia will discuss their UKIS journeys, from developing ideas to identifying collaborators to securing funding. They will give practical learnings based on their own experience.
  • Officials from Innovate UK/the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy will outline the opportunities for Scottish business from the different strands of the UKIS, including the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, Sector Deals and the Strength in Places Fund, and provide useful guidance for navigating the complex and evolving funding landscape.
  • Experts from a leading technical, professional, and scientific services firm will give insights into how they develop, write and position quality bids for funding around the globe.
