Highlands & Islands

Venue: #hellodigital, An Lòchran, 10 Inverness Campus, Inverness

Time: 10:00 to 13:00

We know it’s good to collaborate. Large companies know this too, which is why you’ll see more and more global companies adopting an ‘open innovation’ approach. In short, this means they are looking to work with truly innovative SMEs – like you - to turn great ideas into commercial successes via a collaborative model.

But how do you, as an SME, take advantage of this and make it work for you?

This half-day workshop is delivered by Mike Addison, who pioneered one of the first Open Innovation programmes, within Procter and Gamble. Mike was responsible for P&G’s approach to generating and screening ideas from SMEs and has years of practical experience and plenty of ‘war stories’ to impart!

The workshop will give SMEs an insight into how large companies think when looking to outsource R&D, buy in intellectual property and collaborate with SMEs, just like you.

It will enable you to:

  • Know the value of your own ideas and products
  • Choose the right business model, to extract maximum value form your idea/product
  • Understand the mechanics of the process of buying-in knowledge from the large company’s perspective
  • Build effective alliances to create the win-win

Mike is a well-known speaker on the topic of open innovation; it is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
