Sustainable Business Consultancy Projects

The course is part of the MSc in Global Strategy and Sustainability. Students work in teams of consultants to tackle real-world challenges that a private or public sector organisation is facing. Through the projects students aim to help clients deal with the challenges/opportunities faced by them in various dimensions of sustainability, including social issues such as diversity and inclusion, environmental issues related to reduction of carbon emissions or packaging, ensuring ethical conduct of suppliers, and so on.

During the ten-week period, students work in groups of 5–6 to carry out the research, collecting and analysing data, communicating with key stakeholders, identifying challenges, opportunities and regulatory conditions, and formulating and presenting recommendations.

 

Project Management in Business Analysis Business Consultancy Project

The Project Management in Business Analysis Consultancy Projects course is part of the MSc in Management and MSc Marketing and Business Analysis. Students work as a team of consultants to tackle real-world challenges that a private or public sector organisation is facing – this includes market analysis, process improvement, timetabling, event organisation, supply chain, survey design etc.  During the 10-week period, students invest up to 72 hours each by working in groups of four to five to carry out the research, collecting and analysing business requirements, communicating with key stakeholders, analysing data, and formulating and presenting recommendations. Industry partners receive a detailed written report and an oral presentation addressing the proposed challenge.

Stirling University Management School is looking for external organisations (businesses, third sector, sole traders etc.) to propose projects for undergraduate students that will support their business through marketing. Examples include:

  • Strategic marketing planning
  • Launching a new product/service/range
  • Targeting new segments or accessing (or adapting) new channels including social media
  • Penetration of new (or diversification of existing) markets, including the identification of potential client base
  • Conducting either a brand, competitor, or social media audit
