Open call for new Strategic Board members
New Board Members are being sought to support an organisation dedicated to strengthening business-academic partnerships across Scotland. As a national, impartial and fully connected part of Scotland’s innovation ecosystem, Interface enables businesses and organisations to access the expertise, facilities, funding and collaborative partnerships needed to innovate, grow and create impact in collaboration with Scotland’s universities, colleges and research institutes.
Individuals with a background in one of the following areas – an Interface end-user and small business landscape, specialist sector expertise or the Scottish innovation ecosystem – are being invited to apply to join Interface’s Strategic Board, supporting its ambition to encourage innovation, enable inclusive growth, and maximise the impact of academic institutions in addressing business needs.
Board members serve a three-year term, attend four board meetings annually, and actively participate in steering the organisation towards its 2030 aim – to be recognised for its world-class expertise in connecting small and medium sized enterprises with academia. In return, these roles offer the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the knowledge exchange ecosystem, network with other industry leaders, and shape the strategic trajectory of an ambitious organisation.
Chaired by Professor Wayne Powell, Principal and Chief Executive of Scotland’s Rural College, the Strategic Board is made up of leaders from industry, the innovation landscape, SMEs, partner universities and colleges, and organisations that support academic and business collaboration.
Laura Goodfellow, Director of Interface, said: “I would like to thank Angela Cox, Marc Crothall and Russel Griggs for their contributions to shaping the organisation as they step down. Our Board members play a vital role in guiding us towards our 2030 vision and beyond and we are now seeking new Board members to build on this strong foundation. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Interface as we continue to connect businesses and academia to accelerate innovation and impact.”
