This month Interface organised The Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards 2024, an event celebrating collaboration between academia and business. We acknowledged the achievements and dynamic relationships that have emerged from knowledge exchange. 

These awards marked my third year helping to deliver the event, and once again I was delighted to meet some brilliant thinkers and uncover more about the exciting collaborations taking place nationwide. 

Awards were given in seven categories, highlighting the diversity of innovation in Scotland. The shortlist included projects tackling sustainability, health, equality and much more. The 23 nominees displayed pioneering thinking through their work which will address some of our most pressing challenges. 

A personal highlight for me is the unique opportunity to explore each project more deeply through the nominee videos. I’m lucky enough to be able to collaborate with the nominees on creating the videos, extending support to help bring their visions to life. Serving as project summaries, these videos provide an opportunity for the nominees to proudly display their hard work. Watching these stories unfold in the company of the audience is profoundly inspiring.
